Introduction
Kent State University and George Washington University are pleased to present the Knowledge Management Education Forum Summit, part of an on-going, annual dialog to identify and grow consensus on the knowledge management body of knowledge, competencies, roles and curriculum. The KMEF began in March 2011 with a weekly series of 90-minute webinars with invited presentations. See the wiki space for the first KMEF at http://kmef.iwiki.kent.edu/home to learn about the topics discussed and the results of the work in spring 2011.

We welcome those of you who are joining us for the first time at this Summit, as well as those of you who have participated in the discussion along the way. We are at a critical juncture in the evolution of this young profession and this emerging domain. We look forward to your contributions to this process.
